IFM Investors appoints Global Head of Investment Research

Global pension capital investor IFM Investors has welcomed Jeff Chee as Global Head of Investment Research.

A newly created role, the Global Head of Investment Research will lead IFM’s investment research strategy and capability, reinforcing our commitment to providing clients with forward-looking research that helps support long-term, client-aligned investment outcomes and solutions.

As a global private markets manager with over 30 years’ experience and $266 billion AUD in funds under management as at December 2025, IFM will use this new capability to help enhance global consistency across our research frameworks, help identify emerging client needs, and help incorporate these into investment and product strategy.

The capability will be an additional resource aiming to: 

• Identify emerging client needs early and integrate these into product and investment strategy; and
• Support greater client engagement, informed by in-house research and understandings of macro and secular trends, as well as evolving asset owner dynamics. 

Jeff brings more than 25 years of experience at WTW, where he worked across both Investment and Retirement Practices. He most recently held the role of Head of Portfolio Strategy and was responsible for the development of WTW’s portfolio construction framework.

Jeff has been a contributor and early adopter of the Total Portfolio Approach (TPA), including its application in multiple client contexts via multi-factor portfolio dashboards.  

He has also worked with some of the larger TPA adopters such as the NZ Super Fund and the Future Fund to review and enhance their investment models, multiple Australian superannuation funds and a number of sovereign funds in Asia and the Middle East to help design their approach from the ground up.

This new role will form part of IFM’s Product Strategy and Innovation capability and reports to Head of Product Strategy and Innovation, Rekha Misra. Jeff commenced in the role from February 2.
