In this edition, Ryan Weldon of the IFM Investors Debt Investments team in New York discusses the outcomes of the December US Federal Reserve (Fed) meeting, the key points from the press conference and what to watch ahead of the next meeting.
At the December meeting, the Federal Reserve held rates, maintaining the upper band of their policy rate at 5.5% with no dissenting votes. The statement from their meeting had minimal changes, however, the changes painted a dovish outlook for policy decisions in 2024.
