IFM Investors Chief Economist Dr Alex Joiner comments on the latest global economic news and trends.
Assessing the flow of economic data for the year to date: the US remains strong and the UK has been mixed, but Europe and Japan have generated softer than expected outcomes. In Australia, the economy is delivering reasonable growth, but not enough to accelerate wages growth or inflation. Looking ahead, the synchronicity in global economic growth over recent years looks set to diverge as central banks progressively unwind accommodative monetary policies.
