Keynote session:

As geopolitical tensions reshape our global economy, institutional investors are being forced to navigate a more fragmented, uncertain and strategically contested world. In this conversation, Professor Duncan Lewis AO, DSC, CSC and Cath Bowtell, IFM Chair, will explore the intersection of national security, economic resilience and long-duration capital, discussing the role investors can play in helping build future-focused economies in an era of disruption.

Panel discussion: The approaches to combating economic shocks, market distortions and geopolitical fragmentation are myriad. As definitions crumble and distinctions blur, this panel will hear from investment and portfolio leaders on how they are allocating capital and navigating today’s investment environment.

  • Alistair Barker, Head of Asset Allocation, AustralianSuper
  • Lesley-Ann Morgan, Global Head of DC, Legal & General, UK
  • Jeffrey Chee, Global Head of Investment Research, IFM Investors
  • Chaired by Alex Joiner, Chief Economist, IFM Investors

Morning tea will be served in Hansen Hall, State Library of Victoria.

Fireside Conversation: Across the infrastructure sector, definitions are shifting; governments are increasingly seeking capital; a capex super-cycle beckons; and return expectations from investors continue to climb as they intensify allocations to traditional, renewable and digital assets.

Panel discussion: This panel discussion features four global corporate leaders who daily confront the challenges of a fracturing and expanding global economy. Leaders from data centres, renewables and energy distribution companies relay their experiences how they confront the challenges of today and the prospects and a diverging tomorrow.

  • Marc England, CEO, Ausgrid
  • Michael Arndt, CEO, Swift Current Energy, USA
  • Madonna Park, CFO, Switch Data, USA
  • Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO, Brisbane Airport
  • Chaired by Vivien Cheung, Vice President, IFM Investors
