Insight into action

With net average return expectations above 11% — similar to those of real estate and well above those of mainstream indices like the S&P 500 — investors see infrastructure equity as offering the potential for both robust performance and stability.

IFM Investors is one of the world’s largest infrastructure managers. With 85 board seats across our infrastructure portfolio, our engineers and sector experts join boards and management committees, with the aim of becoming pivotal to their long-term success. We also partner with governments in critical infrastructure build, renewal and management. The reach, reputation and relationships we’ve built over three decades mean we can access deal flows few other managers can.

More than half of the investors we interviewed are intending to invest in infrastructure debt by 2029. We found that the US in particular has become an important destination for infrastructure debt investment: 40% of investors across regions are anticipating investing in it.

Our established, global infrastructure debt team of 25+ specialists operates out of New York, London and Melbourne. We invest US$6.4bn across multiple geographies and has, collectively, executed more than 300 transactions across the world over 20+ years of investing – along the credit spectrum, up the capital stack and across multiple sectors. (Mar 24)

We are committed to targeting net zero greenhouse gas emissions across all our asset classes and business operations by 2050. And we’ve set an ambitious 2030 interim emissions reduction target for our global infrastructure portfolio too.

At IFM we invest patiently and strategically. And we invest sustainably too, helping to transition existing infrastructure as well as investing in newer sustainable assets.

From Sydney Airport to the Indiana Toll Road, from energy storage to data storage, we invest in what matters: real assets that could serve society’s needs for decades to come and deliver positive outcomes for our clients.
