About Gene
Gene Madge is a senior property investment and funds management executive with more than 15 years of experience shaping institutional-grade retail and mixed-use portfolios. As Investment Director, Funds Management, for a portfolio of retail real estate assets for IFM Investors, Gene leads the Fund’s strategic direction, capital management, and performance delivery, ensuring alignment with long-term client objectives.
Gene’s career spans leadership roles at ISPT, Queensland Investment Corporation and LaSalle Investment Management, where he has overseen the delivery of complex development strategies, asset repositioning initiatives, and fund-level governance. His expertise encompasses the full asset lifecycle, from acquisition and development through to divestment, as well as fund strategy creation and execution, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable value creation. Gene combines operational insight with strategic leadership to deliver long-term performance.
Gene graduated from the University of Queensland with dual Bachelor degrees in Business Management (Real Estate & Development) and Commerce (Finance).
