IFM’s role as a long-term equity partner in Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has been featured in a PensionsEurope video report produced in collaboration with ITN Productions Industry News as part of a series called ‘Investing in the Future’.

The report presents IFM’s long-term equity investment in MAG, alongside Manchester City Council and nine other district councils, as a case study that demonstrates how retirement savings can be invested to benefit the community while generating profit.

IFM’s Phelim Bolger joins Manchester Airports Group CEO Charlie Cornish and co-investor Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council, to talk about aligned long-term visions and interests and how this has driven a focus on investing to build a sustainable business.

The £1 billion Manchester Airport Transformation Program is a key example of this investment. The program aims to boost the customer experience and local employment opportunities. To date, more than 1800 jobs and 100 apprenticeships have been generated, 80% of these in local businesses.
