At IFM Investors, we’re committed to fostering a flexible, supportive, and inclusive workplace for everyone—no matter what their family or caring responsibilities look like. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we have maintained our certification as a Family Inclusive Workplace by Parents at Work and UNICEF Australia.

Q: What does this certification recognise?

A: This certification reflects our ongoing commitment to a workplace where employees can balance work, family, and life responsibilities more effectively, in ways that work best for both themselves and their teams.

As part of the certification, we have committed to a 24-month action plan focused on enhancing communication, leadership skills, and practices to support employees with parent and carer responsibilities.

Q: What has IFM achieved over the last two-year Family Inclusive Workplace Action plan?

A: We’ve taken meaningful steps to better support employees across different life stages and responsibilities. Some of our key achievements include strengthening flexible work arrangement process globally; enhancing parental leave resources, increasing internal and external communication on flexible work and family wellbeing practices, and integrating caregiver data into our reporting.

Q: What have we learned along the way?

A:  One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that inclusivity goes beyond policies—it’s about culture, communication, and leadership. While our policies and resources are strong, employees need ongoing support, clear guidance, and visibility to fully benefit.

We've also seen the impact of open, honest conversations about life’s challenges—whether it’s balancing caregiving, navigating parental leave, or managing the unexpected. When people feel comfortable sharing their experiences and the support they’ve used, it not only builds a sense of community but also increases awareness of the resources available to them.

Q: What are we focusing on next?

A: Looking ahead, we are building on this momentum with an action plan that will be reviewed and assessed in 2027. This will focus on expanding on underrepresented topics such as breastfeeding, fertility, kinship care, and pre/postnatal mental health, strengthening leadership capability and enhancing communication and awareness, so employees and their leaders feel informed and confident using family-friendly policies.
