Asset priorities

Melbourne Airport is the primary airport serving the city of Melbourne, and the second busiest airport in Australia. The airport comprises four terminals: one international terminal, two domestic terminals and one budget domestic terminal. It is 23 kilometres northwest of the Melbourne city centre.

Melbourne Airport’s vision is to be Australia’s favourite airport destination. Currently, Melbourne Airport has two intersecting runways, and it is seeking approval from the Federal government to build a third runway.

Growth is an important aspect of the future strategy at Melbourne Airport, where passenger numbers are expected to grow to approximately 76 million by 2042. Key to this is construction of a third runway, which will improve the efficiency of the airfield by introducing parallel operations, while also allowing the airport to cater for increased demand.  In addition, the Melbourne Airport Rail, connecting Melbourne Airport to the suburban network, subject to approvals, is expected to delivered by 2029.

The Launceston Airport is a regional airport on the outskirts of Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.
