IFM Investors has today announced the appointment of two new board directors: Greg Combet and Deborah Kiers.

Mr Combet joins the IFM Investors board following a distinguished six-year period in the Australian Government, during which time he served as Minister for Industry and Innovation, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, and Minister for Defence Personnel, Science and Material.

Prior to this Mr Combet held the role of ACTU Secretary for eight years, and Assistant Secretary for six years before that.  He has been a Director of Australian Super (2002-07) and a Director of ME Bank (2006-07). He holds degrees in Engineering and Economics, and qualifications in labour law.

IFM Investors Chairman Mr. Garry Weaven said Mr. Combet was an excellent appointment.

"Greg's reputation for policy making, oversight of major programs and contract review is known and respected across the nation."

"His career in service of the Australian public is truly an exceptional one and has made him one of the most well-known figures in the country. The board and I are very much looking forward to his contribution," Mr. Weaven said.

Ms Kiers successful international career consulting to major corporations and organisations makes her a natural fit for the board of IFM Investors.  Her experience spans a wide range of industries; mining, oil, gas, water, power, pharmaceutical, public service, engineering, and finance.

Ms Kiers is the Managing Director of JMW Consultants, covering the Asia-Pacific region. She holds a Masters of Public Administration (Harvard).

"The depth and breadth of Deborah's knowledge and experience is outstanding and an ideal fit for IFM Investors," Mr. Weaven said.

"Her current role in particular has a given her a deep understanding of the complexities of undertaking business in Asia and I am certain her insights will prove extremely valuable."

Mr. Weaven also paid tribute to Mr. Brian Pollock a long-standing IFM Investors board member who is retiring from his position.

“Brian is to be congratulated for an outstanding contribution to the board and our business over a sustained period of time.   On behalf of the board and staff I thank him for his significant contribution.”
