About Zak
Zak May is an Executive Director at IFM Investors, and is a member of IFM’s Senior Leadership Team and Global Sustainability Steering Group. Zak is responsible for leading cross-cutting strategic projects. Zak was co-lead of IFM's firm-wide climate change strategy from 2020-2023, and led the negotiation of IFM’s Strategic Alliance with the UK’s National Employment Savings Trust (Nest) and Nest’s investment in IFM’s parent company.
Zak is a frequent participant on industry, government, and civil society expert panels. Zak recently served on the Australian Government’s Superannuation Performance Test Technical Working Group, the Australian Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Technical Expert Group, and the PRI/TAI Stewardship Resourcing Technical Working Group.
Zak joined IFM with significant experience in both the public and private sector. Zak was Director of Policy for Industry Super Australia, where he led the organisation’s research function and strategic projects for industry superannuation funds. Before moving to Australia, Zak served on the executive staff of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington DC, after working as an attorney at Shearman & Sterling in San Francisco and at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York.
Zak holds a Doctor of Law from New York University, and is admitted to practice in several jurisdictions.
