Asset details

GlasfaserPlus is a joint venture with Telekom Deutschland GmbH (TDG), a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG, one of the world's leading integrated telecommunications companies.

The joint venture is responsible for the rollout and operation of an open-access optical fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network in rural areas of Germany. By 2028, GlasfaserPlus aims to have rolled out fibre to up to four million homes in selected rural areas.

Asset priorities

GlasfaserPlus will build and operate the passive network infrastructure, while TDG will sell broadband products to end customers on the basis of a wholesale contract with GlasfaserPlus. Thanks to the “open access” model GlasfaserPlus makes its network not only available to TDG, but also to all other interested internet service providers on a non-discriminatory basis.

GlasfaserPlus aims to play a crucial role in accelerating the digitalisation of rural areas in Germany by providing households and businesses with access to a future-proof broadband FTTH network.

GlasfaserPlus’s state-of-the-art infrastructure aims to enable users to have bandwidths of up to 1,000 Mbit/s.
