Ausgrid is the largest distributor of electricity on Australia’s east coast, providing power to 1.8 million customers, which equates approximately four million Australians. Ausgrid’s network is made up of substations, powerlines, underground cables and power poles throughout Sydney, the New South Wales Central Coast and the Hunter Valley.

Innovation

Ausgrid believes it has an important role to play in encouraging customers to invest in renewable technologies and developing the grid for the energy mix of the future. Examples include community batteries and power pole mounted EV chargers.
