Joining IFM Investors’ New York team in 2014 as an Investment Analyst, Amy Zhu has gained more than professional experience and career development; she knows that the work she does each day is making a positive difference to people’s lives and communities.

Being part of the IFM infrastructure investment team, Amy has been able to transition from a team member to a leader. The team values her unique perspective, and her ability to contribute across the investment lifecycle meant she was soon promoted to Associate in 2015 and again to Senior Associate in 2017.
With a Liberal Arts educational background and a degree in pure Mathematics, the ‘on the job’ experience IFM has offered has contributed to her career progression.

“Through working on a variety of projects across geographies and throughout the asset life cycle, I have grown significantly as a professional investor,” adds Amy.
In late 2018 she was seconded to Hong Kong, and promoted to Vice President in 2020, working with the team there to build out IFM’s regional presence.
As a regular contributor to IFM’s Inclusion and Diversity forum, Amy has also been integral to marking the celebration of Lunar New Year at IFM.
“I spent my childhood in Shanghai and Spring Festival (commonly known as Lunar New Year) was always one of the most important family times of the year. Organizing the regional celebration allowed me to share some wonderful childhood memories with my colleagues.”
While being able to celebrate her culture and contribute to meaningful work gives Amy a sense of purpose, it is our commitment to target net zero carbon emissions by 2050 which has made her feel most proud of working at IFM.
